Step-by-step process

  1. Verify Age & Date of Birth on Aadhaar Card

Eligibility is determined exclusively based on the date of birth recorded in your Aadhaar card. If the Aadhaar only mentions a birth year (e.g., 1956), the system calculates age from 1st January of that calendar year. Ensure your Aadhaar has an updated mobile number for OTP authentication.

  2. Access the NHA Beneficiary Portal or Ayushman App

Open the National Health Authority portal (beneficiary.nha.gov.in) or install the 'Ayushman App' from Google Play Store. Select the 'Beneficiary' login mode and authenticate using your mobile number and OTP. Select Scheme: PMJAY and click on the dedicated 'Senior Citizen 70+' registration banner.

  3. Perform Aadhaar e-KYC & Live Facial Capture

Enter the senior citizen's 12-digit Aadhaar number. Select authentication mode (Aadhaar OTP, Iris Scan, Fingerprint, or Face Auth). When prompted, capture a live photograph of the applicant using your smartphone camera with adequate front lighting and a plain background.

  4. Declaration for Existing Central/State Government Health Schemes

Senior citizens who already hold CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme), or CAPF schemes are given a one-time choice to either retain their existing scheme or switch to AB PM-JAY. Seniors holding private commercial insurance or ESIC can hold the Vay Vandana Card concurrently as a supplementary ₹5 Lakh safety net.

  5. Instant Approval & Ayushman Vay Vandana Card Download

Upon successful e-KYC verification where Aadhaar match exceeds 80%, the application is approved instantly. Click 'Download Card' to obtain the high-resolution digital Ayushman Vay Vandana PVC-ready card featuring the PMJAY holographic QR code.
